106 mins - Spain 2004 - Subtitles - Dir: Pedro Almodóvar Starring: Gael García Bernal, Fele Martínez and Javier Cámara Filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar takes a look at his own adolescence as well as the issue of sexual misconduct in the Catholic Church in this stylish thriller. In 1980s Madrid two young men, Ignacio and Enrique, open up dark secrets as they revisit their early years together at a Catholic school. As they try to uncover the truth about themselves, each other and the diverse characters in the story, they realise that things and people are not as they first seen. “Few other films this year are likely to match this combination of formal beauty, narrative playfulness and heartfelt personal feeling.” The List  Pedro Almodóvar Season For one night only on Monday 25 September, the latest work by acclaimed Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar - a short film entitled A STRANGE WAY OF LIFE - will screen in cinemas across Ireland and the UK. To mark this event, Triskel Arts Centre is proud to be not only showing this film, but to also present a selection of the director’s previous films. TALK TO HER, BAD EDUCATION and VOLVER were hugely popular with Cork audiences when they screened in the city during their original theatrical releases and we are delighted to be bringing them back to the big screen.
